[Safari] Down / up arrows do not select entries in 1P popup

I searched for anything with Safari / up / down / keys, but could not find anything

When a username / password field receives focus, the 1Password suggested entries popup shows as you would expect. In other browsers (I conform this works in Chrome and even the unsupported Opera), using the down / up keys in this moment allows you to browse through the presented options without needing to use the mouse.

With my configuration, this is not possible. When pressing down, the behaviour is as though the extension is not active. The consequence is needing to use the mouse, which interrupts the nice 1Password workflow. Auto-fill etc. otherwise works fine.

1Password Version: 8.10.22
Extension Version: 2.18.0
OS Version: macOS 14.2
Browser: Safari 17.2

Hello @chrisbrandhorst! 👋

Thank you for the report, the team is aware of a focus issue that is breaking the ability to scroll through a list of suggested logins in Safari using arrow keys. I've added your report to the internal work item for the issue.

Hopefully a fix is released soon in a future update to 1Password for Safari. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

This is still not fixed 2 years later.

@dmd

I'm sorry for the disruption that the issue is causing. After investigating, our developers have concluded that this is due to limitations with Safari web extensions and our previous workaround for those limitations is no longer working.

Our team has reported the issue to Apple and hopefully improvements will come in the future.
