Safari extension doesn't set macOS pasteboard type like desktop app

Hey,

I found out that if I'm copying a password from the safari extension it shows up in my clipboard manager (maccy). Doing the same with the desktop app, the password doesn't show up in my clipboard manager.
My clipboard manager works on base of pasteboard types to hide sensitive entries. It seems like the safari extension doesn't set the type correctly or different, isn't it?

OS Version: macOS 15.2
Browser: Safari

Hi Former Member,

You're right. Currently, the 1Password extension doesn't support system copy/secure copy, which is supported by the 1Password desktop app.
Our developers are looking into options to achieve that in the extension. Meanwhile, I filed a feature request on your behalf to support secure copy for the extension.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi @kevin_li, I’m experiencing the same issue in the Chrome extension. Is there any update on this feature request? Is secure copy support for the extension planned, and is there any ETA?

As far as I can tell, the MacOS app doesn't set the pasteboard type either. It should be set to something like "org.nspasteboard.ConcealedType" (see https://nspasteboard.org) or something unique that can be excluded from the clipboard manager. This seems like a relatively easy fix - do you have any updates @kevin_li ?
