Safari's "Autofill & Passwords" keeps popping up after being turned off

Safari's Autofill feature keeps popping up even though all three of my profile's Autofill settings are off (deselected).

Does anyone know how I can stop this pop-up once and for all?

I'm on latest version of MacOS and have three profiles within Safari to manage my personal and business work.

Hello @he2! 👋

I'm sorry that you're seeing an unexpected pop-up from Safari. Double-check that the built-in password manager is completely turned off: 

  1. Click on the Apple logo in the menu bar and then click System Settings.
  2. Click General and then AutoFill & Passwords. 
  3. Turn off "AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys". 


Then, make sure that 1Password for Safari is setup to save and fill passkeys: 

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
  3. Make sure that "Make 1Password the default password manager in this browser" is turned on. 
  4. Click Autofill & save.
  5. Make sure that "Offer to save and sign in with passkeys" is turned on.


Then try to save or sign in with a passkey again: Save and sign in with passkeys in your browser

If you still see the same issue then can you share the address of the website where you're seeing the passkey prompt appear?
