Safari says "Open 1Password"

This has been happening a LOT in recent months. To start with, the browser icon shows locked. Click on it and it says "oops something went wrong". I can't recall what I click next, but things don't work.

When I come back to the dialog box again, it now says "open 1password". The button doesn't do anything. I already have 1password open anyway, and unlocked. I close 1password just in case, and the button still does nothing.

I click on the locked 1password icon in the username field, but it does nothing.

If I close and reopen Safari, it will work again for awhile, then stop working.

Sequoia 15.3.1, 1Password for Mac 8.10.64 (81064007), 1Password for Safari 8.10.64.7.

@burjoes

Are you using Safari profiles, by chance?

I don't think so, because I haven't heard of that.

Here is a picture of what happens when things work. But in other times, the fingerprint dialog just isn't there, so the open 1password button does nothing.

BTW - I am about to get a new computer (my company is refreshing my laptop), so I could drop this and see if it works then, if it's not easy to fix or reproduce.

I just got the same "oops" message and this time, instead of quickly clicking the button, I just waited a minute and was thinking about the situation...and then the TouchID prompt appeared! The browser showed the dropdown in the login field. So I clicked away and back on the browser icon, which showed everything working properly.

So this seems to be some kind of timing issue where the TouchID takes some seconds to appear, the browser extension times out and erroneously says to "reload 1password" (what does that even mean?), which doesn't work anyway, and is actually not needed.

Hmm, that doesn't sound right. Let's get you over to email. Please email us using support@1password.com. Be sure to use the email address tied to the account in question.

Same for me. Newest updates installed (system, 1PW, extenstion). No Safari profiles...

So annoying. 1PW8 really is a mess.
