Without changing any setting all my SECURE NOTES displayed on my desktop are condensed. ALL squeezed together & Window note area reduced.
On my phone the display is perfect but NOT on my desktop.
Can you please help ?

Now I see that if I hit EDIT it will display everything on the full secure note.
That is the Only way to display the full contents of the secure note on my desktop.
Any setting to have it show the entire full secure note without having to hit Edit like it was previously ?

Has anyone noticed that formatting no longer works in the Windows App? The formatting is there, when you are in edit mode it's fine but if you are in normal viewing mode, the formatting is ignored.

Is it just me? BTW, it seems fine in the iPad and iOS apps.

Hello @Lexxx and @PsychoDeli! 👋

I'm sorry that notes aren't being rendered properly in the latest version of the 1Password for Windows desktop app. I've been able to reproduce the issue using my own device when markdown formatting is turned off and I've filed an internal work item with our development team so that they can get this fixed.

For the time being the two best workarounds are:

  1. Temporarily, turn on markdown formatting in the desktop app: 1Password > click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar > Settings > General > Turn on "Format Secure Notes using Markdown".
  2. If you have items that don't play well with markdown then, for now, you can use the 1Password.com web app to view those items. The web app doesn't currently support markdown formatting and is not affected by the issue. You can access the web app by logging in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app).

My issue is resolved using “format secure notes using markdown”

Thank you!

@PsychoDeli

I'm happy that the workaround helps for now.

@Lexxx

I've corrected "Mac" to "Windows" in my post above. Our developers are aware that this is an issue in the latest update to 1Password for Windows and are working on a fix. For now, I suggest using one of the workarounds in my previous comment. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for fixing the purple highlight in the secure notes.
(https://1password.community/discussion/146485/no-purple-highlight-for-searched-text-in-secure-notes-with-markdown-disabled)

However, now I can see 2 (probably new) major problems with markdown disabled.
(uncheck "General -> Format secure notes using markdown")

  1. New line is not preserved in normal mode, everything appear in a single line.
  2. Cannot select and copy text in normal mode.

In edit mode, these problems does not appear, please see the attached GIF.

I and everyone in my organization (currently about 70 people) are also having the same issue with no line breaks and white space (tabs) when Markdown is not selected. White space is also not shown with Markdown checked, so it is breaking a lot of the standard formatting we are using for secure notes. The version is 8.10.50...I also tried the beta 8.10.52-22, and the same problem persists.

We do not use Markdown because there are cases where a password in a secure note uses multiple *. As an example, if you have password*123*456, it will be presented as password123456, with 123 in italics...which doesn't work. (not that we EVER use a password like that, just as an example)

Oh, looks like the comment section uses markdown, heh, the first was password (asterisk) 123 (asterisk) 456
