Sharing Secure Note Warning

I have been a 1Password user for years now. I frequently have to share items with external users and I am very familiar (and happy) with the sharing feature.

Today, when I tried to share a Secure Note item with 2 attached PDF files from my Mac (Sequoia 15.7) using the latest 1Password (8.11.10), I received the warning shown below containing the following text:

Are you sure you want to share this item?
This item looks like it contains part of your 1Password account credentials.

The warning is a bit disturbing because there is absolutely nothing in the PDF files that could remotely be interpreted as my "1Password account credentials".

Is this some type of 1Password AI hallucination? How could it think this and if I start ignoring these messages, it will lead to a lack of credibility on the messages themselves (unless there is some other mischief going on...).

May you please advise on whether this is some type of bug or not?

Hi @snoringelephant,

Good question! To be explicit, there is no AI functionality powering this warning, just a a simple text parser. When there are false alarms with this warning, it's usually that the document has some string of letters and numbers that might resemble a 1Password secret key.

I can definitely understand that it'd be beneficial if the text parser was more precise and I actually see a request for that from a few other customers, so I'll add your name as well.

This is absolutely a badly implemented feature and needs to be corrected. The message is not merely misleading, it is completely incorrect.
