Sharing with Guests

In the support article titled “Share with guests in 1Password for Families,” it starts of with a few uses case scenarios such as inviting your accountant to share financial info or inviting your realtor who needs building codes or inviting your babysitter who needs household information.

In such scenarios, what I’m not clear on is… Would I be creating a vault for each one of those people to share those credentials or is there one shared vault and I am selectively choosing which logins are shared with who.

Thanks

Hello @techbut1er! 👋

Thanks for the question! You would choose to share an entire single vault with your guest. If you have multiple guests then you can choose a different existing vault, or create a new one, to share with each guest. You can read more here:

I hope that helps!

How do keep your passwords in sync with multiple shared vaults that could have the some of the same credentials in each including your private vault

It’s not currently possible to keep items synced between vaults automatically. If you update an item in one vault then you’ll need to manually update the duplicate item in the other vault(s).

That being said, I can see how this would be useful and I’ve filed a feature request with our team on your behalf.
