Should 1Password prompt me for TouchID *after* logging in?

I've recently noticed some odd app behavior. Can you tell me if this is intended?

  • When using the Mac OS desktop app, and 1Password is locked…
  • I enter my master password and hit enter
  • always receive a popup prompting for my fingerprint. "1Password is trying to set up Touch ID for your account."

Has this always been the case?  I don't remember getting prompted for Touch ID so often (like many times a day) especially after I just entered my master password. (It's mildly irritating as it interrupts my workflow every time.)

Note I am not talking about using Touch ID to unlock the vault. I am talking about using my password to unlock first, and then getting the Touch ID popup after that.

Thanks! Using:

  • 1Password for Mac 8.10.58 (81058041)
  • Mac OS 14.6.1 (23G93)

@1P_Davewas able to reproduce the issue and filed a work item to get it fixed. I'm looking forward to the fix :)

@Bazoh super, thank you! (I did search for my issue first, but didn't discover your original post.) 😁
