Should version 7.9 for Mac be running/coexisting with Beta 8.40?

Hi @jwgamble:

While it won't cause any major issues, it may get slightly confusing. When 1Password is requested to be opened (either from 1Password in the browser or a link), macOS will decide which app to open, and it may not be the app you are using or want to use at that time.

Jack

I've been very pleased with the beta version and was thinking of uninstalling version 7.9, to avoid the confusion.

Glad to hear you're enjoying 1Password 8 Early Access @jwgamble! :smile:

Is there a procedure for uninstalling 1Password for Mac version 2.9 1Password Version 7.9 (70900001) and retain the beta version?

@jwgamble:

To uninstall 1Password 7 and move forward with just having 1Password 8 installed, follow these steps:

1. Look for our helper in the menu bar near the WiFi indicator and the clock. Right-click (Option-click) on the helper and select quit 1Password completely.
2. Quit your browser.
3. Drag 1Password to the Trash. DO NOT use an app cleaner

Let me know how that goes!

Jack

Appears to be functioning very well and don't miss the confusion!! Thanks!!

On behalf of Jack, you are welcome @jwgamble! If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out anytime.

Have a wonderful day :)

Thanks
