Question

Sidebar not automatically hidden after starting 1PW

Since some time (1-2 weeks?) I noticed that the sidebar is always showing up fixed, reducing the available screen-space. I prefer to hide it.
I always have to use "Show Sidebar" twice to hide it again.

Hello @fstorch,

Thanks for your report of this issue. I've been able to reproduce this issue after hiding the sidebar and quitting the app completely. Though just locking the app does not seem to produce the same results. Could you let us know if your experience differs when only locking (Ctrl + Shift + L) 1Password for Windows? Looking forward to your response.

In the meantime, I've filed this issue for the development teams review.

Correct, Issue occurs only when restarting 1PW.
However since I shutdown my laptop daily, I see it every day.

Thanks for the reply, @fstorch - I'm sorry for any troubles this causes.

While I have no further details to share at this time, these details are with the team so they can investigate.

In the meantime, you can keep 1Password up-to-date and watch 1Password Releases for the latest news about updates and fixes.

Let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. We'll be happy to help!

A month passed by.
Is it so hard to fix?
It is annoying for me.

Thank you for following up. The issue is still in our developer's backlog to be looked at. Issues are prioritized based on a variety of factors. Hopefully we can get this fixed with a future update. I'm sorry for the inconvenience that the issue has caused.

While I'm not able to provide any sort of forecast as to if or when we'll be able to resolve this issue, I can tell you that our developers are aware that it's something in need of fixing. I hope you can understand.

Thanks.

Hello again @fstorch,

Thanks for the reply and letting us know that things are working again as expected with the hidden sidebar.

I hadn't seen any updates from our end, but I'm also seeing things are again working as expected.

Should you run in to any other troubles, let us know and we'll reach back out to team for further investigation. 👍

Hi @fstorch,

We had a some more reports of this issue with the sidebar staying hidden in out latest Production release, but cannot reproduce this on our Nightly channels. Could you let us know if this issue has returned and what version of 1Password for Windows you are using?
* Find the version numbers for 1Password and your operating system

Thanks! 👍

I was using nightly 1Password for Windows 8.10.12 (81012031) on Windows 11 22H2
Now updated to nightly 1Password for Windows 8.10.14 (81014007) and the sidebar still remains closed on restart.
