Question

Snippet placeholders/dynamic text

One of the things that I need to do with Snippets is to write dates in various formats. I would like to be able to write snippets that include placeholders such as: yyyy-mm-dd that would output the date for today (for example: today's date is October 29, 2025, the output for the snippet would be 2025-10-29.

I also want dropdown lists for example: Option 1|Option 2|Option 3. When this snippet is fired, I would like to be presented a dropdown where I choose from those three options.

I am glad someone else had a similar idea.  This is something that had kept me from using snippets more in my day-to-day workflow -- but they have been a great help for email templates, signature blocks for various purposes, and the like.

As we move from one CRM solution to another, we are losing some of the dynamic formatting we had in the old system (e.g. {{customer.name}} in a template would replace it with the Customer’s name that we have pre-configured for each customer.  We could create snippets for every customer, but a drop down field for a snippet would be a great addition!

Example would be if we type __customerName__ then a dropdown with the pre-configured customers would show up.  We click on the customer we want, and it finishes the Snippet text replacement.
