Standalone Safari Extension Without App Store

Hi,
I am looking to distribute the 1password safari extension to laptops in an organization without having to sign in to the app store. It would be helpful if you have an application file (like a .pkg file). I know it wasn't possible 2 years ago in the discussion link below.

Just hoping that things have changed since then.

Thanks!

Hello @kebede! 👋

Thanks for following up! As mentioned in the thread that you linked to, Apple requires that Safari extensions are distributed through the Mac App Store and we're unable to distribute 1Password for Safari outside of the Mac App Store. There haven't been any changes in this area that I'm aware of.

If it's not possible for the members of your organization to install apps from the App Store then they can still install the 1Password 8 desktop app from our website and use Universal Autofill to fill their logins in Safari:

I hope that helps.

I believe Apple allows Safari Web Extensions to be distributed out of the App Store now, this was a recent change, not sure when. See
