Stop asking for my master password

Regarding the requirement to enter your master password, it appears that you're configuring the auto-lock timer to 300 minutes for your 1Password.com session. This setting specifically manages session security within your web browser. Your session will lock either when you close the browser or if the tab remains inactive for 10 minutes.

If you would like to change the auto-lock settings for the 1Password desktop app or the extension, I recommend checking the following support page: How to set 1Password to lock automatically.

I have the same issue and the article did not help as I don't use Windows Hello.

Up until a few weeks ago 1Password would require its password the 1st time after a reboot but then it would unlock using my windows password. That changed and now requires the 1Password password EVERYTIME which is annoying.

Hi @LionelBDyck! I understand that you used to be able to unlock 1Password with your Windows password after the initial unlock, but now you're having to enter your 1Password account password every time.

Unlocking 1Password using your Windows PIN requires Unlock using Windows Hello to be enabled in the1Password desktop app under Settings > Security, as the Windows PIN itself is a Windows Hello sign in option.

It sounds as if you may have previously had this option enabled and something may have changed a few weeks ago that caused it to stop working. If you check your settings in 1Password, is the Windows Hello option enabled or disabled at the moment? If it's disabled, does enabling it restore the behaviour you were used to?

it was disabled this morning and I enabled it and still no joy.

Hi @LionelBDyck, thanks for getting back to me! To confirm, after re-enabling Hello unlock and doing the initial unlock with your 1Password account password, if you manually lock the app, the next unlock isn't showing either a prompt for your Windows PIN or a Hello smiley face button to the right of the account password field?

If so, could you email in to support+forum@1password.com with a diagnostics report from 1Password, so we can look into this further?
