Question

Storing 2fa codes in 1Password

Now that improvements has been made and 2fa codes can be quickly moved from the text to the entry field with one tap, Isn't that a preferred method to get 2fa codes?

I recently set up a 2fa code for fidelity.com and I had the rekey the code from 1Password into the entry field; it did not fill automatically.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Hello @williamspl! 👋

I understand that you’re running into issues when filling your one-time password into an app on iOS. Can you tell me which website/app you’re trying to fill into and which version of iOS you’re using?

If you’re using 1Password 8 and iOS 18 or later, you can fill your one-time password with these steps:

  1. Select the one-time password field.
  2. Select the Login item suggested near the top of the keyboard or at the bottom of the screen.
    • If there are no matches, select the key icon above the keyboard, then search for your login and choose the one you want to fill.

I look forward to hearing from you.
