Suddenly "Account Password Required to Use Face ID" on iPhone

I suddenly received the message that I must use my account PW to use Face ID to open 1PW on my iPhone. I have been using it with Face ID for a long time. What is the cause of this and is it for real?

I ask like that because earlier in the day my son reached out tome because a random message came from my phone that was in my pocket to our family text group. I had an attachment to a link about Supply Chain issues. I have no idea how it got there but had concerns about opening my 1PW.

I just want to be certain before I provide my account password.

@drohr

Face ID could have been disabled due to a number of reasons. This may help About Face ID security in 1Password for iOS

I also noticed your phone is in lower power mode and on charge. You might have experienced one of the the situations Apple mentions here: About Face ID advanced technology - Apple Support

I am not sure but that’s a good catch. My battery had gone low somewhat suddenly. Perhaps every worked as it should. 1PW always does me right! Tech support and community have been a big help
