Question

support vivaldi browser: snapshot versions

The vivaldi browser is supported where the 1pw file in NativeMessagingHosts in the vivaldi application support folder on macos is automatically created. However, it is not so with the vivaldi snapshot (their term for the beta version: https://vivaldi.com/blog/desktop/snapshots/)

Manually copy over the file in the NativeMessagingHosts, 1pw extension still complains about chrome has new update and not unlocking when the 1pw app is unlocked.

Hello @moiraine_sedai! 👋

Thanks for reporting the issue! I see the same behavior on my end and I've opened an internal work item with our development team so that they can look into this further. At the moment, Vivaldi Snapshot is not a supported browser.

For the time being, you may still be able to use 1Password in Vivaldi Snapshot but you'll need to unlock it separately from the desktop app using your account password.

@moiraine_sedai

Our development team is currently testing support for Vivaldi Desktop Snapshots. This is currently available in the nightly version of the 1Password desktop app and we hope to release it to the beta and production versions as soon as possible.

If you'd like to help us test the fix then you can find the nightly version of 1Password here: Use 1Password beta or nightly releases
