Question

Trun off 2fa.

I set up one of my sites with 2fa using 1Password. Then, I decided to use a standalone app for 2fa. I logged in to my site, canceled 2fa, and added it again with the new 2fa app.
Problem: 1Password keeps entering the 6-digit code, which is always wrong, and my site rejects the sign-in. How do I turn off 1Password 2fa for that one site or all sites?
I have read all that I could find. I've tried the extension in Chrome, the app on Windows 11, and the 1Password site itself.
Question: How do I turn it off?
Thanks.

Hello, @chiptransisto. Thank you for writing in.

If you've added 2FA on a separate application, you can remove the one-time password from your 1Password Login item. Here's how:

  1. Open and unlock 1Password.
  2. Locate your Login item and click Edit.
  3. Check if the Login item contains multiple one-time password fields and click the delete button beside it.
  4. Click Save.

I hope that helps. Let me know how that goes.

Thanks. That didn't work either. After I deleted all of the one-time passwords and clicked on the entry in 1Password, it filled in the username/password and then filled in the (wrong) code for the 2fa.
Same problem.

It did work, after all. Another one-time password field was present when I returned to the 1Password entry. Once I deleted that, everything worked.
Thanks.

@chiptransisto,

You're very welcome. I'm glad to hear that worked.
