Question

Turn off autosubmit

1Passoword auto submits my forms since the last update. I found no option to disable this. This is annoying as many forms have questions and other items that have to be filled in, some remain in default (in most cases unsecure) options (like remember me), some have extra fields which needs to be filled in so I get an error. I like to use "Open and fill" which in this mode is like russian roulette, if the site changes and there is some extra uption it will be submittied, without me even noticing there was something there.

Congratulations for this option. Really annoying. Where can I disable it?

Hello! 👋

I'm sorry that the autosubmit feature is getting in the way, I've merged your comments into one thread so that we can keep the conversation in the same place. You can turn off autosubmit by following these steps:

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
  3. Click Autosave & fill.
  4. Turn off "Sign in automatically after autofill".

This is annoying as many forms have questions and other items that have to be filled in, some remain in default (in most cases unsecure) options (like remember me), some have extra fields which needs to be filled in so I get an error.

Are you able to provide any examples that I can take a look at? I can open issues with our development team so that they can look into improving how autosubmit works on those websites. 🙂

I know this is an older thread, but I'm having issues with Autosubmit, particular when logging into Gmail or Google Workspace, where 1Password Autosubmit choses to "click" that I have forgotten my email address, instead of "clicking" the button Next, and therefore I can not use it for logging into Gmail (Google Workspace)

If I could disable or enable it on every login, it might work better, Or I should be able to train it on what to "click" depending on the login, or it should be trained depending on what it observes me doing :-)

Hope that helps you in your effort to develop the product more :-)

All the best

I'm seeing this thread late too, but I appreciate the instructions for turning the feature off.

Bank of America is one site that doesn't like this behavior at all:

Hello, @1PasswordUser24. Thank you for writing in! I'm sorry about the issue you're encountering with the Autosubmit feature.

I've done some testing on my end but haven't been able to recreate the same behaviour on Google's sign-in page. May I ask if the page is in a different language? If there's an issue on a specific page with Autosubmit, I can report it to our development team for further investigation.

Furthermore, I understand the usefulness of turning off the Autosubmit feature for a specific website. While I can't make any promises, I've shared your feedback with our product team.

@Funglin

On behalf of Dave, you're very welcome. I apologize for the trouble. I suspect the issue on the Bank of America website is related to the password not filling before submitting. The password field on this specific page becomes available after entering the username. Does the issue occur on their home page? -> https://www.bankofamerica.com/.

I look forward to hearing back.

@1P_Evon - I turned the Autosubmit feature back on, and no, the issue does not occur on the BofA home page.

@Funglin, I appreciate the time you took to test that. I'm glad that it works on the home page. Nevertheless, I've reported the behaviour to our development team for further investigation.

Let me know if there's anything else I can assist you with.

Hi @1P_Evon Yes the login page for Google is in a different language, I have not tried it in english, as it always defaults to my native language, that might be the reason... I have not looked into how Google programs their login pages in different languages. ;-)

Thank you for your feedback

You're very welcome @1PasswordUser24.

I was able to reproduce the behaviour if the language was in German for a different user, and I reported the behaviour to the team. So that I can report this problem to our development team, may I ask which language it defaults to?

I look forward to hearing back from you.

How do I turn this off on macOS?

I want it to autofill but not submit.
