UI is completely empty in 1Password for Windows

When I open 1Password the UI is completely empty/blank, I can only see the buttons to minimize/maximize/close. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the issue is still there. I tried disabling and re-enabling hardware acceleration, didn't make a difference.

The settings window renders fine though.

This is with 1Password for Windows 8.12.2 (81202037), production channel.

Note: when I uninstalled and reinstalled, my account was still there, which I wasn't expecting. So I imagine some configuration settings are being stored in some user-location, and maybe whatever is causing this issue is also there.

Any suggestions on where to look or what to do to fix this?

PS: I tried attaching an image but the Publish button then complains about a li-image that I need to remove...

The support folks recommended I reset the app (Settings -> Advanced  -> Reset 1Password) and login again, and that fixed the issue :).

Hi @alexvy86,

I'm sorry to hear that the main 1Password window is blank, (although the Settings window renders correctly), and reinstalling hasn't helped.

Just to double check, when you disabled hardware acceleration, did you fully quit and relaunch 1Password afterwards? You'll need to right-click the 1Password icon in the system tray and choose Quit, then reopen it. The change won’t take effect otherwise.

If that still doesn't help, I'd like to ask you to create and send in a 1Password diagnostics report so our team can investigate further:

Send a diagnostics report (Windows)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:

  • A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/ui-is-completely-empty-in-1password-for-windows/167474

You'll receive an automated reply with a Support ID number. Please post that number here. Thanks!

Yes, I did. And tried the same thing with "Use OpenGL rendering", also with no effect.

I submitted the diagnostics report. The Support ID number I got back is FBE-82395-458.
