Unable to export 1password data from mac desktop app

Using: 1Password for Mac 8.10.28 (81028034)

I am trying to do an export of my data, following the instructions here: https://support.1password.com/export/

But, when I open 1password, the menu bar does not show any 1password menu items - only the previously opened application. So I'm not sure how to get to the File > Export option mentioned in the instructions above. Any ideas what I'm missing or doing differently than everyone else?

It looks like you are in the browser. You'll want to use the Desktop app to export.

@MrC Thank you for your reply, and I can see how you'd think that, but what you are seeing there is the 1password desktop app window in the foreground, but brave browser is in the background. But, for some reason, the menu items for brave show up above in the menu bar, even though it's not the application I'm looking at. does this make sense?

Something is wonky there. It should of course look like:

Try Cmd-Tab a few times to see if you can get 1Password's menu bar to appear so that it is the foreground app. Then File > Export.

Yeah, you were right - something was up with the application and/or OS. I needed to restart the computer before it would work.
