Unable to Update/Create passwords via browser extension (macOS / Vivaldi / Edge)

macOS Sequoia 15.3.1
1Password App 8.10.64, 81064007, on PRODUCTION channel
Vivaldi browser extension 8.10.64.7
Microsoft Edge browser extension 8.10.64.7

Unable to update passwords via browser extension: "1password encountered a problem"
Unable to create passwords via browser extension: "An unexpected error occurred. Please contact support@1password.com"

I'm able to update and create passwords in the App, but those changes are not visible via the browser extensions.

Just started happening today.

    Hello everyone, 

    Earlier today, 1Password experienced a partial outage that affected both authentication and the saving and updating of items, in the browser. Our team has implemented a fix for the issue and is monitoring the results. You should be able to use 1Password in the browser normally again.

    As we review today's events internally, any new information on the incident will be posted to our status page.

    If you're still having trouble using 1Password, and the desktop app is installed, then follow these steps to reset the connection between the desktop app and 1Password in the browser:

    1. Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
    2. Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and click Settings.
    3. Click Browser.
    4. Turn "Connect with 1Password in the browser" off and then back on.


    If you continue to see issues, or need help with these steps, then let us know and we can help further.

    I'm sorry that 1Password in the browser is running into issues. 1Password is currently experiencing a partial outage affecting both authentication as well as the saving and updating of items. That outage is the likely cause of the issues you're having.

    Thanks for the update. Can confirm functionality is working again.

    However, it's concerning that an online service issue interfered with local machine operations between the app and browser plugin on the same machine. I could understand multi-platform sync issues (i.e., across multiple computers and devices), but having local operations impacted isn't ideal.

    Not sure how you handle sync / conflict issues during offline operations, but errors like this should be treated as if there's no connection...

    I'm sorry for the concern that this has caused. While 1Password in the browser shares the same lock state with the 1Password desktop app, it otherwise works independently from the desktop app and both communicate with 1Password.com rather than with each other to make sure that they have the latest updates and edits.

    When you save a login using 1Password in the browser, that login is saved directly to your account at 1Password.com and then the desktop app fetches the new information from 1Password.com itself. 

    The 1Password desktop app was not affected by this partial outage and, even if it had been, you still would have had the ability to access your passwords there since the desktop app maintains a local offline cache of your data.
