Question

"Unexpected Host ID" Error?

The following error fired during regular browser operation - I think the only anomaly was that 1Password was trying to access a passkey for a log in, and it failed once before working:

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Agilebits.1Password_8.12.1.3_x64__amwd9z03whsfe\1Password.exe

The operation was not completed because an unexpected host ID was encountered.

1Password is working regularly again, so I'm mostly trying to figure out if this is any kind of security breach. Thank you!

Hi @kevinfli, welcome to the Community!

I'm sorry to hear that you ran into this error. If you'd like for our team to look into this further with you, send us a 1Password diagnostics report from your Windows PC:

Send a diagnostics report (Windows)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:

  • A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/unexpected-host-id-error/166930

If the duplicate installation issue prevents you from opening the desktop app to create the diagnostics report, you can zip up the logs folder at %LocalAppData%\1Password, and attach that to your email instead.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number.  Please post that number here.  Thanks very much!
