USPS site Login not working in MS Edge

The USPS login page won't work in MS Edge Browser when I have the 1Password extension enabled. There's no error message. When I submit my credentials thru the page, the page just reloads.
The login process does work if I use a Private Window in Edge, but that's the same a disabling the extensions.

If I enable the Developer Tools in Edge I can see this error in the console pane. Something about '...been blocked by CORS policy....'

Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://www.usps.com/root/global/server_responses/anyapp_outage_apology.htm' (redirected from 'https://reg.usps.com/entreg/json/AuthenticateAction') from origin 'https://reg.usps.com' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: The 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header has a value 'https://www.usps.com' that is not equal to the supplied origin.

1Password Version: 8.10.32
Extension Version: 2.23.3
OS Version: Windows 10 , 22H2, 19045.4412,
Browser: MS Edge

Hello @vbphil, thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry about the trouble you're running into with 1Password in the browser.

I've done some testing on my end but haven't been able to recreate the same behaviour. In regards to the CORS policy error in the browser's console, that appeared for me even when the 1Password extension was turned off.

Does the same behaviour occur if the 1Password extension is allowed in private browser mode?

  1. Right-click the 1Password extension icon in your browser's toolbar and select "Manage extension".
  2. Check the box beside Allow in InPrivate
  3. Open a private window in Edge and autofill on the USPS website using 1Password in the browser.

Let me know how that goes.

I tried it in the private window, and I got the same results. the login page doesn't work.

So, if I disable the 1Password extension and enter my credentials manually I get signed in.
