Vault filtering on Chrome suggestions

Hello,

I couldn’t find a similar active topic. The most annoying thing on Earth is 1Password suggestions in Chrome. I have many many Vaults with a lot of passwords. I also use multiple Chrome profiles each with 1Password extension where I explicitly unchecked some of the vaults in browser extension settings → “Account & Vaults” → Filter List. Yet still, 1Password always shows me credentials from all of the Vaults I have connected in the browser. This is madness, what is this “Filter List” setting for? I have many work profiles where I use similar services and I always have to scroll through long lists of credentials to get to the one I want.

Hello @konradalfaro! 👋

I’m sorry that you’re seeing unexpected suggestions from 1Password in Chrome. Can you double-check the setting that you mentioned using these specific steps:

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings
  3. Under General > Accounts & vaults, make sure that only the vaults that you’d like to see suggestions from are selected.

I know that you checked this in the past but I wanted to make sure that I understand the current situation properly. If you still see the issue then can you tell me:

  1. Where do you see the suggestion? In the dropdown menu on the page itself? In the pop-up window that opens from the toolbar?
  2. Are you running the latest version of 1Password for Chrome: 8.12.34.34

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yes, I did triple check that the vaults I don’t want to be suggested are unchecked. They are unchecked. Yet still I get suggestions from them in the website forms. I’m running everything in the latest versions, Chrome, extensions, 1Password desktop on Mac.

Everything is updated which I also regret because after one of those the Chrome Extension always asks me for 1Password password when for the first click on it, second click gets me TouchID. It happens all the time...

@konradalfaro

Thank you for the reply. Can you check to see if you might be running multiple copies of 1Password in Chrome by pasting the following into Chrome’s address bar and then pressing Enter: chrome://extensions/

If you only see one copy of the 1Password browser extension then I'd like to ask you to create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from 1Password in your browser:

Send a diagnostics report (browser extension)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:

You should receive an automated reply with a Support ID number.  Please post that number here.  Thanks very much!
