Viewing Photos in iPhone Landscape Mode Not Working Again

On iOS 17.1 on an iPhone 15, when I view a photograph (say an image of my drivers licence) it can only be seen in portrait mode. Rotating the phone does not rotate the image.

This has been an on and off problem for a long time. I first inquired about this in 2017! Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Some 2020 posts by 1PW support suggested it might be a device specific bug ... e.g. landscape works for me on an iPad Air, but not my iPhone.

Could you please get this working again please? 😀 Being able to display identity documents in landscape mode on a phone makes them more legible.

Thank you for the feedback! 1Password will rotate the screen to landscape mode only on larger iPhones (and iPads) since smaller iPhones don't have as much vertical space when held in landscape.

That being said, I can personally see how it would be useful to have the modal that opens images and other files be able to rotate and I've passed along your request to the team internally. 🙂
