Hi.  I keep getting the "We weren't able to save your document" error when trying to either create a new item or add a document to an existing item.

Thank you for answering those questions. It looks like you're a few versions behind, can you update to the latest version of 1Password (8.11.4 at the time of writing): How to keep 1Password up to date

If you still see the issue on the latest version then I'd like to ask you to create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from your Linux device:

Send a diagnostics report (Linux)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

Hello @rushtone! 👋

I'm sorry that you're seeing an error message when trying to add a file to an item. So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following:

  1. Does the same issue occur whether you drag and drop the file to the item or whether you use the file picker to select the item?
  2. Which version of 1Password for Linux are you using: Find the version numbers for 1Password and your operating system

I look forward to hearing from you.

  1. Yes.  With drag-and-drop I get the same error as when I use the file picker.
  2. 1Password for Linux 8.11.0 (81100029)

You're right, I was a few minor versions behind.  Seems odd since I installed it with the "App Center", which showed that 8.11.4 was "latest/stable" yet it wasn't upgrading what I had installed.

I deleted it via the App Center and followed the 4-step process to "install manually" where I add the 1password repo then use apt.

I now have 8.11.4, and I have successfully added a document using the picker.

Thanks for the help.

I'm happy that updating 1Password resolved the issue!
