Web password vs app password

Hi community,

 

Is the web password the same as the app password to log in? I have my app password, email and secret key but web site will not let me log in.

Hello @QDreesmann! 👋

I'm sorry that you're unable to sign into 1Password.com. If you're using 1Password 8 then there's only one account password that you'll use to sign into both the 1Password app and 1Password.com. 

So that I can better understand the situation can you tell me the following: 

  1. Are you using 1Password 8 on all of your devices? Or are you using an older version on some devices? You can check using this guide: Find the version numbers for 1Password and your operating system
  2. Do you see a vault named "Primary" on any of your devices in the 1Password app? 
  3. Can you double-check that you're using the correct Secret Key using this guide: Find your Secret Key in the 1Password apps

Hi Dave,

 

Many thanks for your reply. I'm still on 1PW 7, version 7.9.11.

I can sign in on my Mac but not on my iPad or iPhone or even on the web. I have my master password and my secret key. I have exported all my vaults in 1PIF format, but can't seem to import these either.

 

Please help.

Thank you for the reply. I suspect that you have an older standalone vault in 1Password 7 that uses a different password from your 1Password account. The team and I can certainly help with this, I'd like you create a diagnostics report from 1Password 7 on your Mac:

Send a diagnostics report (Mac)

Make sure to use the instructions for 1Password 7. Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:
