"Welcome to 1Password" repeating pop-up

I'm seeing the issue with repeated "Welcome to 1Password" pop up.

I'm on the latest version of MacOS and checked to make sure I have the latest version of the Safari browser extension.

Anything I can do to stop it?

Hello @micmitch! 👋

I'm sorry that you're seeing a "Welcome to 1Password" screen re-appear when using 1Password on your Mac. So that I can better understand the situation, can you tell me the following:

  1. Is the screen appearing in the 1Password desktop app? Or in Safari?
  2. If it's appearing in Safari, do you clear Safari's browsing/history cache regularly?
  3. How often have you seen the screen in the last week or so?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Dave,

this has been happening to me as well since a couple of days, just after installing the latest version of the Safari extension from the App Store.

It happens multiple times a day, opening a new tab in an existing window.

I am not a big fan of clearing the history and cache and rarely, if ever, do it.

Have there been support tickets opened on this issue already? I am inclined to open one given that the forums here will be offline for the next week or so, and this issue has been pestering me quite a bit...

Thanks, Luca

I'm experiencing this too on v8.12.24 with Safari Extension v8.12.21.1 running in Safari 26.5 on MacOS 26.5.1.

It's shown me the "Welcome to 1Password! Let's get the browser extension ready." 5 or 6 times today in Safari, and keeps showing regardless of whether I've completed the setup steps or not.

I have always had 1P on Production; never switched to Beta or Nightly.

Otherwise, the extension itself seems to be working fine.

I have just opened support ticket #644362 so I can keep track of things even during the temporary read-only status for this community.

Bye, Luca

Thanks, it looks like this issue has stopped. I did move from Production to the Beta, so that might be the resolution, or part of it.
