What actually does marking a favorite do?

There’s the favorites “star”. Great. But what does it actually do?

It doesn’t seem to work in any way I would expect a “favorited” item works. I expect it to be added to a size-limited list, so that I can quickly locate it and re-use it.

Or maybe a “toolbar” across the top of “favorites”?

As it is implemented now, I find marking something as a favorite is next to useless.

Hey @Bogeyman! Marking an item as a favorite does a couple of things today. It adds that item to the Favorites section in the sidebar, so you’ve got one place to quickly get back to the stuff you use most. Favorites will also get bumped to the top when you have multiple matching items available for autofill on a site.

I can see where the star sets a bit of a different expectation, though. What you’re describing with a small set of favorites pinned somewhere that’s immediately accessible is a little different from how Favorites works today, and I actually like the idea of making those items more prominent than just section in the sidebar, so I’ll make sure to get your feedback here in front of the team. 🙂
