Why do i have continually manually enter my password into Chrome 1P extension,

My chrome 1P extension constantly requires manually entry of the password, even if 1P app is open on my desktop. I have to exit chrome and 1P and reopen to get this to work. This is a real PAIN. Has been going on for Months now. What's the point of having the extension at all if i have to manually enter this info each time?

1Password Version: 8.10.50
Extension Version: 8.10.48.25
OS Version: 14.6.1
Browser: Chrome 130.0.6723.91

Hello @tcoates! 👋

I'm sorry that you're being prompted to unlock 1Password in Chrome more often than expected. It sounds like the communication between the desktop app and the Chrome extension isn't working. Try this:

  1. Open and unlock the 1Password for Mac desktop app.
  2. Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click Browser.
  5. Make sure that "Connect with 1Password in the browser" is on.

Then in the browser:

  1. Open your browser.
  2. Right-click on the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and click Settings.
  3. Make sure that "Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app" is on.

If that still doesn't work then do you see a green dot in the browser settings page? Or a different coloured dot and an error message?
