Hello @DoubleGoodbye! 👋

Thank you for reaching out. 1Password will only ever fill your login credentials for the website that you’re currently on, based on the website address added to the item containing those login credentials in 1Password.

Can you tell me a little more about the issue? On which website are you running into the issue? Are you using the browser extension to fill your logins by selecting the item that you’d like to fill from the suggestions menu that appears below the username/password field? Or are you using a keyboard shortcut?

I have attached two photos to explain better, You can see I am trying to login to Apple Developer. The login with the email I *want* to use is in the vault. Why does it consistently try to log me in with a different email (also in the vault)

Subdomains are another similar case. I have an *exact match* for the subdomain I am on abc.mysite.com in the vault. However because I also xyz.mysite.com it seems to prefer that one with no rhyme or reason. Wouldn’t an exact match just be the more sensible one? I know I can go through and make sure to check “only fill on this exact domain” and I do, but even so, I am bemused as to why 1Password would chose something else where there is an exact match for the subdomain I am on.

I had this issue a few times.

This might not be YOUR issue, but it 100% is AN issue… so maybe it will help someone.

I often clone or copy existing entries then change the information. This helps preserve the tags and custom icons and other things. I notice every once in a while, it’s auto-filling the wrong username. The item only has 2 fields Username + Password!! Where is it getting the wrong username from?? Ahhhh I cloned it. Somewhere there is hidden data that is mismatched.

The only fix I found when this happens is to create a new entry and delete the bad one. No matter how I change the username, it only fills the original username from when I cloned it.

Ive cloned hundreds of entries and had this happen maybe a dozen times, so it’s not common.

No cloning involved. I have two entries for the same site, and it always wants to chose the other entry even though I have already made it clear which email I want to log in with.
