Why not make this feature a toggle button and eliminate so many people asking the same question?

I'm not trying to be a troll but, I have been lamenting the loss of this feature (perceived loss) and now find out about this easter-egg like feature. Dang, why fix what was not broken in the previous version?
No matter what, I'm glad I finally stopped what I was doing to learn about this here on the forum.
