Windows Master PW Not Changing

Four years ago, there was a similar problem reported but I don’t find a resolution.

I recently changed the Master PW for our Family Account.

The new PW is effective for all of my iToys and Macs and for my wife’s iToys - but NOT her PC account.

The PC still opens (to the Family Account) using the old Master PW.

I find NO way to change the Master with the PC App.

I loathe Windows, (became a devoted Apple system user in 2011 and haven’t looked back), and am becoming totally incompetent with the wife’s PC (on purpose) but ‘marital bliss’ hinges on my dealing with this problem.

How, please, can I make the new Master PW effective on her PCs? (I’m assuming that her second system at our other home will have the same problem.)

Hello @Wallbanger! 👋

I'm sorry that your wife is still being prompted for her old account password on her Windows PC. So that I can better understand the situation, can you tell me the following: 

  1. What version of the 1Password app is she using: Find the version numbers for 1Password and your operating system
  2. Is she able to use the new account password to log in to her 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app) and does she see all of her items there? 
  3. Do you share the same 1Password account? Or do you have separate accounts in the same 1Password Families membership?

Send a diagnostics report (Windows)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:

I don't see an email from the address that you're using for the community. Did you use another email address? Can you check your spam/junk folder?
