Credential Governance: discover, reclaim, and govern company logins

Every organization has them: credentials created outside IT’s systems that become invisible. Break-glass accounts copied into multiple vaults as a precaution, contractor logins that outlasted the contract, apps that don't support SAML. Until now, it’s been almost impossible for IT and security teams to discover and govern these logins.

This week, we launched Credential Governance, giving admins a repeatable way to find those accounts, take ownership of them, and govern access over time, all inside 1Password Enterprise Password Manager.

And, once they’re reclaimed as company-managed credentials, admins can rotate them, revoke access instantly, and prevent non-admins from editing them. Every access change is recorded so when an auditor asks who can access a credential today and who could access it before, the answer already exists.

Learn how to discover and govern unmanaged credentials in 1Password.
