1Password SDKs update: Programmatic item management!

Hello, friends 👋

You might recall that we launched our first set of 1Password SDKs last year—production-ready libraries for Javascript/Typescript, Python, and Go.

We have some news to share: those SDKs have just received a massive upgrade. You can now programmatically access any item stored in 1Password! Read on to learn how these SDKs can streamline your workflows — and how to securely equip AI agents with everything needed to automate even more.

Later in the issue, you'll also find some recommended reads hand-picked by 1Password's developers. Enjoy!

Introducing programmatic item management with 1Password SDKs

The 1Password SDKs now provide full programmatic access to 1Password items. That includes creating, reading, updating, deleting, listing, and sharing information stored in vaults.

Whether managing secrets, automating onboarding, or standardizing IT operations, you can now build seamless and secure integrations that automate access to information stored in 1Password.

Securely provision AI agents using 1Password Service Accounts and SDKs

AI agents are evolving from helpful assistants to autonomous actors that can browse the web, schedule meetings, book travel, file expenses, and more.

Thinking of building one yourself? With 1Password SDKs and Service Accounts (dedicated identities that let apps and agents access 1Password independently), you can give your AI agents secure, scoped, runtime access to the secrets they need to operate—so you can automate parts of your workflow without sacrificing security.

Developer spotlight: DMNO

DMNO is a configuration toolkit for development and deployment workflows. Learn how the DMNO team leveraged 1Password CLI and SDKs to build a plugin that allows developers to securely access sensitive data stored in 1Password vaults, adding type-safety and validation — without writing any custom code.

Announcing the Agent2Agent Protocol (A2A)

Google recently launched a new, open protocol called Agent2Agent which "enables agents to interoperate with each other," even if they're built by different developers or organizations.
