Preparing for 1Password Device Trust
Objective: Lay the groundwork for a successful deployment by informing your team and employees as well as align the rollout with your organizational needs.
People
Inform your teams
Your security program is more than a set of tools and policies – it’s a reflection of the values your organization stands behind. Share Honest Security, a guide and philosophy of endpoint security and device management, with your security and IT teams.
Address privacy concerns
Review the Privacy Center settings and data visibility policies within Device Trust to confirm they align with company privacy standards.
Process
Define rollout strategy
Decide whether to roll out to all employees simultaneously or in phases. Will you roll out Device Trust to all employees at the same time, or will you start with a specific group? If staggering deployment, then you will repeat the process outlined below for each cohort.
Example: Start with the IT department as a pilot group.
Set rollout timeline
Define the start date for each rollout phase:
- Initial communication to impacted employees
- Device Trust / Kolide agent deployment date
- Health check enforcement date
Develop communication materials
Use our employee communications templates to introduce Device Trust to employees, addressing common questions and privacy concerns.
