Can't "Choose file path" for local .env file

I’m trying to use the local .env feature in 1Password for the first time. I can create an environment no problem, but if I try clicking on the “Choose file path” button, nothing happens. I’ve even run 1Password from the command line with ‘--log=trace’ on hoping to see some kind of error message and nothing shows up in the logs when I click the button.

(Aurora Linux, installed layered on with rpm-ostree, 1Password version 8.12.32)
