Are you being prompted for your account password when you're using the main 1Password 8 app or when you try to use 1Password in the browser?
If it's the app itself then are you using the Shift-Command-L shortcut by any chance? And, when the app locks, do you still see the 1Password icon in the menubar at the top of your screen or is the app completely closing when it locks?
