1Password does not have “Create a New Password” feature for iPadOS

Hi,

I’m currently using iPad Pro running on iPadOS 18.4.1.  I noticed that 1Password App for iPadOS does not have the “Create a New Password” feature if I edit a new or existing “Login” item.

If I create, say a new Login item, 1Password will generate a 65-character password automatically.  But when I try to edit and replace the default password with a new password, there is no option to “Create a New Password”.  In the case of 1Password App for macOS and iOS, this feature is available.

Just wondering if it is only me who encountered this problem.  Thanks.

As an update, the problem was already identified by a Technical Representative of 1Password.  It is the external Keyboard of the iPad that caused the issue.

My request to 1Password then is this:  Do you have a plan to correct this 'inconvenience' problem--for those who are using their external Keyboard together with their iPad most of the time--in the near future?

    Thank you.

      Hello LeGu! 👋

I'm sorry that you're running into an issue where the "Create a New Password" option isn't appearing when you use 1Password for iPadOS. There is indeed a known issue where using an external keyboard can cause issues with that option appearing in the iOS/iPadOS app. A work item is open in our development team's backlog to get this fixed in a future update.

From the team's testing, the issue occurs if the "Full Keyboard Access" feature is turned on: Control iPad with an external keyboard

If that option isn't turned on for your iPad and you're still seeing the issue then please let the team know by replying to the email ticket that you have open with the support team. 🙂
