Aftercare after installing 1Password
I would expect 1Password to clearly state how to adjust my settings after I have installed 1Password, but I can't find it anywhere. I have 1Password installed on my Windows 10 laptop, my Samsung Android mobile phone, and my Apple IOS iPad.
- How can I ensure that passwords that have been saved in my browsers in the past are cleared?
- How can I prevent my browsers from still saving and autofilling passwords when I have to enter my credentials on a website?
I would be very happy to see a checklist that would take me step by step on each of my systems through each of my browsers to set everything up securely. For example, I have not yet been able to get my Samsung Android system to automatically fill in my credentials with 1Password. And on my Windows laptop, Google still offers to save my password.
Dear 1Password, may I recommend that you make such a checklist available for each system and for each browser?

Hi FraDo, thanks for writing in! Those are great questions.
After setting up and launching 1Password in your browser on a computer, or the 1Password mobile apps you will see a get started flow with some basics to help move password to 1Password, and set up autofill. It's possible to skip through or close out the flow though, so we do have more extensive guides as well.
Our guide on turning off built-in password managers can help with question one and two on each platform. For each browser, the guide also links out to steps to move any previously saved passwords from the browser to 1Password, as well as how to remove any passwords from the browser once successfully moved to 1Password.
If you haven't had the chance to check them out yet, the following guides can be helpful to set up autofill on each device, as well as provide some tips to manage settings:- Save and fill passwords in your browser
- Use 1Password to save logins and sign in on your Android device
- Use 1Password to save logins and sign in on your iPhone and iPad
Let us know if there's anything we can help with, and thanks again!
