BUG Attachment "save as" option missing!!! on Android for over 2 years

Hey,
yes I'm very salty.

I have asked for it 2 years ago
https://1password.community/discussion/132041/1p8-suggest-bug-and-file-download-feature

Simple thing... Please add the option for attachments to "save as" besides the damned "preview" option which makes attachments in Android app mostly USELESS!

Yes, I have found another extension which has a predefined app bound to it and hence cannot save the attachment to my phone's filesystem.

No, don't ask me what the extension actually is. It's irrelevant... It's a generic problem on Android when you have an extension linked, you don't get the fallback to save it.

I want to save the attachment, edit it and then somehow use it in the app of my choice. The only preview option which eliminates this most basic workflow.

Sorry, not sorry for the rant.

This is indeed an issue that our team resolved in the latest versions of 1Password for Android. Thank you for your patience and I'm sorry again for the inconvenience.

WoW! I am shocked and amazed... This feature has been actually added,

Yes, one can now download/save into Android local storage any attachment. I don't see it in the release notes but I can see this feature in 8.10.64

Thank you, this really helped me recently, and I do like 1Password as a product, much recommended

However... I would really like to see an improvement for such trivial things... a 27 months time-to-market for 50-100 lines of code is a bit concerning...

  • Hello ankhazam! 👋

I'm sorry that attachments aren't working as expected when using 1Password for Android. Our developers are aware of the issue and hope to get a fix out in a future version of 1Password soon. I've added your report to the internal work item open for the issue.
