Microsoft Authenticator backup on ios now requires Keychain. Will that interfere with 1Password?
I have Microsoft Authenticator on my iphone. Authenticator uses iCloud account backup. But they are changing how that works.
On iOS they now want you to use iCloud Keychain (with iCloud Backup). But my understanding is that Keychain will interfere with 1Password. Does anyone have any insight about this?
Hello nbarrowman! 👋
Thanks for the question! iCloud Keychain is different from Apple Passwords, Microsoft Authenticator using it for app data backups shouldn't interfere with 1Password. Many apps, including 1Password, use iCloud Keychain to store certain types of information. However, let us know if you do run into any issues.
You can read more about iCloud Keychain here: Set up iCloud Keychain
What you do want to do is make sure that 1Password is the only password manager enabled for iOS AutoFill: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your iPhone and iPad
