Passkeys Not Working On Android 16

Hi all,

I set up a Passkey for my government portal site on my PC. The Passkey works fine on both my PCs, but not on Android (16).

How do I set up 1Password so it will use my Passkey on the government app on my phone? Or, is there a way to export my Passkey from 1Password to my phone?

How do I get it working?

    I am having the same problem on OxygenOS 16. Right after upgrade from 15 passkeys stopped working. Tested in chrome, brave, and duckduckgo.

    I have also tested passkeys from Microsoft Authenticator and from Google Password Manager, they all stopped working.

    Duckduckgo provides an error message "Webauthn isn't supported. Use a different browser or device to use your passkey."

    Other browsers pop up "No passkeys available".

    I have tried switching off and on autofill and passkeys in the system, switch on and off "autofill in Brave" in 1Password, rebooting, upgrading to latest RC.

    Passkeys don't work for me on Android 16 either.  Not in Firefox, not in Chrome.

    They work fine on PC & Mac.

    Toggling OS Password+Passkey service to None and back doesn't help at all.

     

    I'm really disappointed in 1Password's service on this front.  It hasn't worked for YEARS at this point.  Posts like these just get cold shouldered.

    Hello brettn​! 👋

    Thanks for the question! If you open the 1Password app on your Windows PC and then find the Login item for your government app, do you see the passkey there? If you do then that confirms that the passkey is saved in 1Password. 

    Once a passkey is saved in 1Password, it become available on all devices where 1Password is installed. You can sign in using your passkey by following the steps in this guide: Use 1Password to save logins and sign in to apps and websites on your Android device

      Hi,

      I am unable to sign in with a Passkey on the app. The Passkey is there in 1Password, but when I select to sign in with a Passkey, nothing happens. It just says "Sign In Another Way".

      I'm not sure if the problem lies with 1Password or MyGov.

      See the second image in the link. That is what shows up when I select "Sign In Another Way".

      Really confused with this one.
