Pin to Screen

    Can you clarify what you mean by switching tabs? When you press Command-O (the letter O not the number zero), Quick Access will open the item in a new window on top every other window that you have open, it won't open a new tab:

A bit like window in a window. 

This feature was available as 'Pin to Screen' in 1Password 7 Safari Extension, but it's been removed with 1Password 8 and its new Safari Extension; I don't know why. 

Basically, I want to pin the window on to the browser so even if I change the tabs or refresh or submit the password window is pinned and I can access it easily.

Thanks for the reply! You can open an item in a new window by using 1Password 8's Quick Access:

  1. Press Shift-Command-Spacebar to open Quick Access: Get to know Quick Access
  2. Search for the item that you'd like to open.
  3. Press CMD+O to open the item in a new window.
