Way to add extra 'security'
Hello all,
I am wondering if there is a way to either create a vault that has an extra password protecting it or password protecting a specific item. The goal isn't to have it be secure from advanced hackers or the like, but mainly, there are some accounts that I don't really want people to see I have and I don't like that the second I open 1Password at work, someone can peer over my shoulder and see a list of all my accounts and usernames. I don't mind if that password is able to be reset via email. I just want one extra barrier.
I know I can create another vault but as far as I can tell, it is just as accessible as any other one so it does not really solve the problem.
Somewhat in the same vain: is there a way to have specific fields of different logins be "protected" like they show dots instead of the actual output like how passwords are? Sometimes my notes in each login are personal or like if I have another field like birthday, I don't want anyone to be able to see it. Again, goal isn't to protect from hackers but to stop accidental discovery.
If these features don't exist, lmk if there is a way to request them because I feel like a bunch of people would use it :).

Hi JoeShmo232233,
I definitely feel and share your pain with the need for having "secure" vaults!
It's been too long ago to remember exactly how it worked, but when I switched from LastPass, this is one of the features I really, really missed and wished 1Password also had the same functionality.
The only thing I have been able to do in 1Password as a "workaround" is to create separate vaults with inconspicuous names. Clicking on them is still going to reveal the entries but it's better than nothing and at least it requires a click.
I so totally agree with you: It's not about stopping a hacker; rather, it's about adding an extra layer of protection to avoid nearby wandering eyes from seeing your vault data. We deliberately want to go through that extra step to unlock the vault and reveal its contents.
As for the fields, I also agree and it should be implemented as simple as a toggle (e.g., a checkbox to indicate show or conceal).
I'm glad you made this post and hopefully it gets some attention and traction!
