Granular shared vault permissions now available for your managed companies

Hey everyone! We’ve launched granular shared vault permissions for managed companies in 1Password Enterprise Password Manager – MSP Edition, giving MSPs and their clients more precise control over technician access to shared vaults.

Your clients can now securely control if and how your MSP team accesses shared vaults and secrets.

Why it matters

Your clients can enforce least privilege access so MSP technicians only see what they need to resolve tickets and support them. This reduces unnecessary exposure while maintaining operational efficiency for your MSP team.

With granular vault permissions, MSPs can:
  • Assign basic or advanced level shared vault access by group or by technician
  • Limit shared vault access to only what’s required

How access works

  • Basic access: Users can create shared vaults within managed company accounts and only access shared vaults that are explicitly shared with them.
  • Advanced access: Users can create and manage all shared vaults in a managed company, including assigning access and configuring vault permissions.
