2 months agoJuly at 1Password: Passkeys in the browser, back-to-school security tips, and new enterprise controls
Welcome to your monthly roundup of what’s going on in the world of 1Password!
Full passkey support arrives in the browser extension
While passkeys have been available in 1Password for some time, this month marks a major milestone as you can now create, manage, and sign in with passkeys directly from the 1Password browser extension (No desktop app required).
This update makes it easier than ever to upgrade logins, organize passkeys, and adopt a passwordless future. Watchtower will even flag logins that support passkeys so you know where to start.
Browse the passkey directory or check out the release notes for more information.
Heading back to school? We’ve got you covered.
From Chromebooks and parent portals to AI tools and online scams, school is digital now – and that comes with risks.
We shared two new guides this month to help families stay organized and secure as the school year kicks off:
New season. New channel. Same chaotic energy.
1Password’s award-winning podcast is back for a brand new season. And for the first time ever, you can watch full episodes and Shorts on our new podcast YouTube channel.
In our Season 15 premiere, we’re diving into:
- The hacker group known as Scattered Spider
- A new “Crash Course” on using 1Password for Apple Watch
- Productivity tips and tricks from 1Password’s own Allie Dusome
- A brand new game segment called Hack or Hoax!
Listen to the Season 15 premiere in your favorite podcast player, watch on YouTube, and check out the blog post and 1Password Community for more.
Fast track your 1Password deployment
Rolling out 1Password to thousands of employees just got a whole lot easier.
We launched two updates designed to help IT teams move faster and tailor their employees’ onboarding experience:
- Customizable onboarding emails: Add your brand voice, rollout instructions, or internal guidance.
- Paginated admin views: Faster navigation across vaults, users, and groups.
MCP Server for Trelica is now live on AWS Marketplace
Trelica by 1Password helps organizations discover shadow IT and monitor SaaS usage. With this month’s release, that data is now available directly inside AWS-native workflows, helping you stay ahead of compliance drift and streamline governance.
A unified future: What’s next for our end-user experience
We're planning to integrate capabilities from 1Password Device Trust and Trelica by 1Password into the 1Password browser extension. This will give business customers more visibility and control over access – without compromising privacy or performance.
These changes won’t impact individual or family accounts, but they’ll lay the groundwork for a more seamless, secure experience across 1Password Business.
