Securing AI-driven browser workflows with Browserbase and 1Password

We’re excited to announce that 1Password’s new Secure Agentic Autofill integration is now available through Browserbase, delivering end-to-end encrypted, just-in-time credentials to AI agents in the browser.

Secure Agentic Autofill uses the 1Password browser extension to fill credentials on behalf of an AI agent only when required and always authorized by a person. Raw credentials never enter the LLM context, and Browserbase can’t access, see, or modify anything in your 1Password vault without your approval.

Here’s how it works:

To make this possible, we’ve built a new protocol on the trusted Noise Framework, creating an encrypted channel between your 1Password device and the browser. Every credential request must be approved by a human before it’s filled, keeping secrets secure and under your control.

This integration makes 1Password the secure source of truth for AI agents, bringing together encrypted credential delivery, least-privilege access, and human-in-the-loop authentication for browser-based AI workflows.

Early Access starts today for all 1Password customers using Browserbase.

This new integration is opt-in for developers using BrowserBase, and separate from the standard 1Password in the browser behavior. There are no changes to regular business or personal usage.
