Help shape Custom Policies: Join the beta!
Today, 1Password policies apply to your entire account, meaning that every team is subject to the same rules, whether they fit or not. Custom Policies changes that. Create a policy configuration and assign it to specific groups, and it will override your global settings. You'll see which policies have group overrides, and receive warnings before a new custom policy replaces an existing one. Apply to join the beta and help shape what we build next.
New SSO policy: Let team members export vault data
Exporting vault data used to require an account password and secret key, which team members using SSO don't have. That made migrations and business continuity plans depend on temporary workarounds.
Now, administrators can use a single policy to govern whether team members using SSO can export vault data. Every export requires authentication with your company’s identity provider, and policy changes are recorded in the audit log. SSO administrators never gain access to 1Password vault contents.
Now available: Automated provisioning with Google Workspace
You can now connect Google Workspace to 1Password directly from the Admin Console, with no SCIM bridge to deploy or maintain.
After an initial sync reconciles your directory, 1Password syncs automatically every hour. Need a change reflected right away? Select “Sync now” from the admin console.
When users are suspended or removed in Google Workspace, 1Password automatically deprovisions them, and changes to group membership and group deletions sync automatically.
Help others discover 1Password

Securing AI agents with zero standing privileges

AI-enabled development and automation are becoming part of everyday engineering workflows. The challenge is that many of those workflows still rely on standing privileges, broad service accounts, or access models designed for humans. That can create a dilemma for security leaders: how to preserve engineering agility while avoiding AI workflows that operate with more authority than the task requires.
In this upcoming webinar on November 2, learn why zero standing privilege is the safe bridge for AI-enabled work. Attendees will see how task-scoped access can limit an agent or workflow to the intended resources and actions, for only as long as the task requires, with appropriate control and automatic revocation.
