Don't AWStrack me, Bro

Community email notifications contain links to the post or “private” message in the form of View topic or Read message, however instead of linking directly to the Community, they all link to 3r5r0yq.r.us-west-2.awstrack.me.

Please stop using AWS or any other tracking for Community notifications.

If you want analytics, then collect them at the 1Password-operated system which we use and trust.

PS. The links are actually white text on a blue pill, but it appears that the forum colour options on that end of the spectrum are limited to various shades of teal, inconsistent with the Community’s one and only colour scheme.

Hi @AJCxZ0 👋

Thanks for flagging this! We were able to have this disabled by our platform vendor.

The tracking is back today, specifically. None on email from 9 Aug 20206, then tracking on first email on 10 Aug 2025.

It would be interesting to learn how this was turned back on after you had it disabled by your platform vendor: not for finger-pointing, blame-ascribing, or scapegoat-assigning, but to learn what is needed to prevent this (and things like it) the reoccurring.

Hi @AJCxZ0 👋

This should be turned off again. Sorry for the trouble! Our platform vendor is prepping to migrate email services and this got toggled back on as part of that.
